After deleting my dialup icon a dozen times today and getting rid of the virus, my network (xbox 360 and pc) arnt, erm... networked. Im guessing its because the new dialup connection I created isnt set to share the connection with the xbox. Can anyone provide a fools step by step guide to setting this up, assuming this is the reason the network connection isnt working

OK, I managed to find and tick the internet connection sharing box (really dont know what Im doing this is no doubt a piece of cake for some of you) but the xbox just isnt connecting to the 360.

All I did was delete all my dialup icons... what is the most likely solution to getting the two networked and on the net, again?

Assuming you have a functional dial-up icon, right click this, and select properties from the context menu. Click the Advanced Tab, and make sure that the "Allow other network users" checkbox is selected. Pick your private network (probably Local Area Network), and choose whether or not to allow the Xbox to connect for itself.
Click OK, then it should all work like a dream.

Are you on broadband, btw?

Sorted, thanks! Yes, broadbean here - the modem functions like a dialup modem, and a "dialup" rather than broadband connection needs to be created.
Its working fine now, cheers
