I am in the process of setting up my PC and laptop on a wireless network at home. So just wondering if there is any sort of wireless device I can connect my TV and Hi Fi into? The purpose would be to allow me to play music and vid's stored on the PC without any physical connection from the PC or laptop? Ultimately it would be great to have all my CD's vinyl and videos stored on the PC and just call up what I want to listen to or watch.

There are several wireless media players, however I suggest you read online forums and reviews!!. I have a squeezebox 3 for playing my audio files through the stereo, I threw away a netgear mp101 the thing was junk. I have a friend who is looking to do the same, currently looking at a buffalo media player approx £150, seems to have reasonable reviews. Wireless seems a bit glitchy still, and some players work realy well with some routers etc. Buy online and open the box with a view to sending it all back and getting a refund if it doesnt do what you want or is buggy, just send it back under the 10 day cooling off period that you have by right since you bought it from home.

Just got a Roku Soundbridge M1000. It plays mp3 radion stations, and stream direct from iTunes or Windows Media Muncher. It plugs into the AUX on a normal stereo or speakers if you use the two phono outputs.

The the internet radio play bit it also works independantly from the PC, and you can operate it direct from the remote control.

The unit is also Wifi and Ethernet. The set up has to be one of the best ever. I have a mt-daap streaming server ona linux box here and within 3 questions from when I first turned it on, it had found it and was playing a coldplay track.
