I have just bought a domain name and hosting from the above and i'm having a few probs.

First i'm trying to upload a small holding page using Frontpage and it wont let me, looking through the help files i have to enable Frontpage extensions but i cant find them..

Secondly i'm trying to set up some more mailboxes and access them in Outlook, setting them up on register1 seems easy but i cant seem to get the settings right in Outlook. I point the pop3 setting to mail.************.co.uk and it finds it but it cant authenticate the username and password for some reason. If i use pop.**********.co.uk it doesnt even find it!

Please go easy

TIA

I pay my support chaps alot of money to sit around and wait for queries like this

Make use of them!

FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE) are only available on the VDS Pro accounts, and even then by Default FPSE are not enabled as it overlaps with some of the HTAccess functionality, If you raise a support ticket it will be enabled for you.

The POP3 issue sounds like you've got a Standard VDS, not a pro, and are not adding the @domain.com to your username (as mentioned in your welcome email) the VDS Pro's come with their own IP and Mailserver, removing this requirement.

Either way, open a support ticket via your Register1 control panel any my chaps will be happy to assist.

OT: FrontPage is an easy WYSIWYG editor, but its 'publish' functionality sucks, using an FTP client is much 'cleaner'

Just checked, and it is a Non-Pro, so NO FPSE I am afraid.

Good news is for the email you just need to append @domain.com to your username

or talk to my support and arrange an upgrade to a VDS Pro

How do you know these things? i havent given you account details yet!

I deleted the email accounts thinking something was wrong so wil try again now.

Looks like an early upgrade then before i have even started! at least its not a great jump.

Thanks Jamie

The powers of deductive reasoning.

oh, and you used your name when you ordered

My support guys will be able to talk you thru an upgrade, not a very involving process really.

Username is now just

Username

mailserver is mail.yourdomain.com

all this info is listed in the 'Welcome Email' you get sent.

You might need to flush your DNS cache as the VDS Pro has its own IP address

From a Command Prompt (Start, run, cmd)

ipconfig /flushdns

Enjoy
