The Google stuff is full of spyware.
Norton is crap, get AVG free.
Zone alarm firewall
Ad-adware free
spybot

From my pen drive kept specially for this
After XP pro, (and SP2) there are around 30 XP updates from microsoft
then:
Adaware
AVG
Ccleaner
Spyware blaster
Zone alarm
Opera
Winamp
it's all free
