Sorry if this is in the wrong place but was kinda struggling in which forum area to post.
Anyway brief and to the point.
I have Panasonic DVD recorder and am having great difficulty getting it to recognise any blank discs other than TDK's any suggestions anyone as to how, what, where, and why its doing it? I went out and bought 3 different manufacturers yesterday and had no joy. Its frying my brain please help.

have you tried dvd ram discs yet.you should have no problem with these
remember to format it first. you have to move the little tab on the caddy that the disc is enclosed in.on dvd/rw i think the Panasonic favors dvd- discs rather than the dvd+ format.......

dvd ram discs likely won't work in a cheapo dvd machine (if you're writing films to disc)

I recommend you go to the manufacturer website and see if there is a 'firmware' upgrade for your recorder. Solved some problems on mine, did that.

Not a techie so cannot answer your question but I have a Panasonic(DMR-E100H) and if I put an Ikea plate in it it would write on it and play in any other DVD player.

Maybe your particular machine is faulty?
