Anyone got a direct phone number for Dabs. Friend ordered an ipod from them last week, which appears to have been sent through normal postage rather than registered or recorded (so no reference number to trace the package!) and its not arrived. Everytime he trys to contact them via their website he gets the normal automated responce that they will look into it and get back to him.

Short of ringing the website administrator and hounding him for a phone number, has anyone got the name and phone number of someone who can actually help.

cheers,

Ian

is this any good?

search for Dabs and it should bring up a geographic number for you.

I had a dispute with them shortly after they instituted their email via a form only policy. I could not get a sensible response out of them so got Trading Standards on the case. Suddenly their customer service people, who I had been informed did not have phones when I called their business line, were able to call me. I am boycotting them until they will provide a customer service phone number.

Even if they deliver by ParcelForce you're still buggered if anything goes wrong. Neither company think they need to talk to you ... Dabs says "do it by e-mail" and ParcelForce says only Dabs can report a problem to them. Utterly useless. (ParcelForce says they employ a team of people just to look after Dabs ... which gives you some idea how ed up things must be ... and that it is Dabs that has instructed them not to deal with us, the end customers, direct.)

On one occaision when an order dissapeared into the ether, I managed to blag my way to the phone number for the local ParcelForce distribution depot and got hold of a girl who had a brain and took the initiative to try and help, even though she wasn't supposed to. She eventually worked out that their driver had failed to deliver our parcel and had written "nobody available" on the delivery form. On his return to the depot, some clerical window-licker had keyed this into a computer back at the office as "delivered to Mr Nobody Available". Thus the computer thought the parcel was delivered and the audit trail terminated. The parcel was never recovered. Several weeks later Dabs sent out a second batch of goods which we received. Who knows if they ever recovered the missing kit.
