Can anyone here recommend Business Intelligence tool that won’t break the bank but will is flexible enough to adapt and grow with my business.

Currently we have 12 employees and turnover around £6 million, which Gordon Brown permitting we’re looking to grow to around 60 employees over the next 5 years. As most of our profit is being ploughed back in to finance the growth, we don’t have loads of spare cash floating around.

Initially I want a high level view of my sales and financials across different divisions of the business, but moving forward will want to roll that out at an employee level so each FTE can get a snapshot of their ‘business’

We have a proprietary database which stores our sales information / client accounts etc (does have ODBC if that makes a difference) and Sage Line 50 for accounts. Ideally the package will link into both packages and produce a predefined ‘dashboard’ view of the business which we can then drill down on.

Can anyone recommend a product or a company that would be appropriate for an small business like ours?

I’d really appreciate any pointers

Many thanks

Jason

I'd speak to Sage. There is a new Intelligent Reporting tool that's supposed to be pretty hot. It'll integrate with Line 50 and from what I can gather will do a hell of a lot.

*disclaimer*
I work for Sage, but have nothing to do with Intelligent Reporting (I do data repair for all the accounts products). One of my best mates did the primary testing of the program throughout development and he rates it as the best piece of software that Sage has ever put out.

Didnt you ask this question in February?

Anyway take a look at Crystal Xcelsius

www.xcelsius.com

Single user is quite cheap but I think 20 user workgoup is about 5k. There is free 30 day trial.
Also talk to PH'er RichB as he was having a product developed abroad to do MIS dasboard type stuff.

Did ask a very similar question earlier this year - you're right! However wanted to approach it slightly different & some some further reassurance that I'm on the right track.

Thanks for the Crystal recomendation - looks good for the cash
