How can people be that incredibly ignorant?
Americans!
When "Henry V" came out, they had to rename it just "Henry", coz folk would think they had missed the other 4 episodes!
Lets face it, they dont believe in Global Warming either, doesnt apply to them, their arrogance gets them everything they deserve I'm afraid.

"Like most things that are worth owning, Computers are an American invention."
Just answers all the questions doesn't it!
The first mechanical computers were invented by Charles Babbage (englishman!), the first Electronic computer was the Colossus invented by a team at bletchly park to crack German enigma codes.

"this rugged IBM laptop I am using was designed and built by an American company."
I thought Lenovo were predominantly Chinese? Numbskull.
Lenovo bought the rights to build IBM PCs and Thinkpads. I believe they were the company building them in the first instance under licence anyway.
Also, about 200-300 messages down someone points out the laptop was probably built in China.

Linux, as far as I know is a Finnish os, makes me proud to be from Finland
Linus Torvalds, the originator, is Finnish (although Swedish speaking), but the OS now has significant contributions from Brits, Septics, Germans, and a host of others.
ETA.
oh and by the way I am neither a communist, nor particularly mendacious, I use Linux, because it's a better O.S. for running small servers, than the dogs breakfast that is micro$haft's offering.
