Or uses percentages above 100% in CSS.

In IE, you can change the text size, either by holding down control and using the mouse wheel, or by going to the menu and choosing view/text size and then selecting increase or decrease. Some sites may be styled to prevent this.

To ensure that you've not changed the font size by accident, go to view/text size and select "normal".

Grrr.

I've only done one website and it drives me mad (what must it be like for pro web designers/developers) and they havent fixed it in IE7 apparently, though PNG transparency (double grrr) is apparently fixed.

And it looks like IE7 may introduce another problem for me in session handling... Just when I thought I had got round all IE's foibles they bring a fresh set to the party. Humbug.

Might have to do some browser version checking and just divert any MS browsers to the Mozilla site instead

Plotloss, IE fix for pre-IE7 browsers. Just a bit of java, include and custom css...

Try Opera.

www.opera.com

Some sites don't like it, but by 'eck it's fast. Makes IE look positively pedestrian.

My view,

Yup - that's you having a larger font size, alright. You can see where the PH style sheet is making most of the font the "right" size (names, the post text, etc), but where no size styling has been applied (people's names in quotes, etc) the font's massive.

Should be fixed by choosing "normal" in the IE text size menu item (see earlier post). If not, you may have windows set to display large fonts instead of normal sized ones. (Right click the desktop, select "properties", go to the appearance tab and look at font size.)

Also, if you click on Tools and Quick preferences, Identify as Int Ex seems to make the non Opera friendly sites more opera friendly.

Anyone tried IE7 beta? It's better than IE6, but still slow compared to Opera.
