windows media encoder help

I'm trying to convert .avi file into a media file, although sound is on the .avi after the conversion I dont have sound, any ideas ?

I've tried a few different things but no luck as yet

You need to get hold of GSpot - www.headbands.com/gspot/ it will tell you which codec you are missing, then just google for the missing codec.

Are you using one of the built in profiles? If so, which one?
