I've been trying to create a userguide in word, and it needs to have cross referencing. I have read the help guide, and it says that you need to have headings for it to link to. How do I create a heading? Is it just simply a phrase that I type of is there something I need to do to it afterwards?

I have opened the cross reference box, but it isn't displaying any headings at all, which is the main problem at the moment.

I hope someone can help me out.

Thanks very much.

You need to set the style of the text to heading 1, 2 or 3

You should have a dropdown box in the toolbar that will probably say normal in it at the moment (on mine, it's to the left of the font chooser).
