I'd like to setup my pc to use 2 monitors and would also install some kindda TV card that could have a tv (digital if poss) showing in a window.

The problem is I only have one AGP slot that already has a graphics card installed for the current monitor, I've seen that you can get a monitor cable splitter but are these any good or the best way to go?

thanks for any help.

The digital TV tuner card will be PCI

You could then either get a dual headed VGA card (or one with dual head capability) or add a PCI VGA card in addition to the AGP one.

If you get a Y cable and add it to the card you have now that will output the same image to both screens which I guess is what you dont want.

Spitters are generally poor quality, and are only any good for showing the same display on two monitors.

I presume you want to spread your desktop over 2 or more monitors? Most modern graphics cards can do this - if you're can't then replacement AGP cards that will start at £notalot.

Alternatively you could add second (PCI) graphics card into a spare slot and use that for your second monitor.

You can get PCI or AGP cards with built in TV tuners also.

Other than the TV requirement (for which you would want a TV tuner card), what else are you looking to use the PC for?

To give you some idea of what is possible, my PC has 2 card (1 AGP, 1 PCI) and a PCI TV card (dual tuner), and outputs to a total of three monitors and a CRT TV.

Ok so it's looking like 2 new cards, a new PCI graphics card and TV tuner card. You can get a graphics card with TV out but I'm not sure that's what I need.

Yeah it sounds like the Y cable isn't a good idea.

The PC gets used mainly for software dev using VS so I want a bit more screen space but also to have TV if possible. That's it's really.

What are my best options for signal feed, I've seen a few mini antenna type gizmos but got no idea if they're any good.

Split the coax running off your aeriel on the roof.

TV Tuners have standard RF connectors for the RF in.

Ok thanks for the info, the mini antennas don't look up to it but thanks for confirming.
