RIS = Ace if you can be faffed to set it up!

RIS is very good.

We use Landesk and image the PC's with a standard build per department, works superbly well.

ADS/APF fully purposed server from bare metal without touching the thing. A lot of effort to set up but once there you could deploy a complete data-centre without getting out of you seat. Shame M$ gave up on it but then like i said a lot of effort to set up.

i was just wondernig whether xp asked for the licence code during the install and you have 30 days to activate it, or whether it asks for the code on install.

either way, it became a mute question as i couldn't find a drive i wanted to use anyway, and ended up ordering a new drive for the install. considering the new xp software isn't arriving till tomorrow either trying to save 2 days became a mute question.
