Plusnet have been great, but they have brought in Download Limits for the Premier service that mean my connection speed gets knocked back.. but they are upgrading me to 'up to 8MB'..

Anyone know of a good ISP with a high download limit (Talking 20GB/month minimum) that does up to 8MB connections for approx £25/month?
As I will be paying £22/month now with Plusnet, for up to 8MB and I can only download 10-15GB before my speeds get knocked down..

Dave.

Have you gone though the ISP sticky at the top of this forum?

Check your local exchange status (sorry, I don't have the url to hand) you may well find that BeThere.com are offering unlimited 24Mbit sometime soon (August here in suburbia). I know I criticise Wanadoo/Orange but they supposedly offer 8Mbit uncapped, alas their acceptable usage policy is vague.

Zen.

£25 gets 20 gig clean (only downloads get counted, uploads dont).
1 gig websapce.
Static IP ( 1 or 8) included.

Been faultless for me.

Apparently eclipse shape the traffic, couple of people been moaning on ADSLGuide.org.uk forums...

Either will be streets ahead of Plusnet for online experience though...

Yo Dave, unless you are downloading a sick amount of porn (don't worry we've all done it) I can't see how 20GB is a problem? I always thought I would need unlimited but then realised I average less than 5GB a month and I download loads of crap american TV shows.

Not been downloading sick amounts of porn - this month anyway to be honest I dunno how I racked up 12GB so fast but i'll give it a try on Plusnet for a while anyway.
Can't be bothered moving for the sake of a small limitation in the last few days of the month.

Dave.

NTL have no limits - they've about to remove the 75GB cap on their 10MB. Its £35 for the 10 though...

I've been happy with Plusnet - in the 18 months I've been with them, the monthly price has gone down 5 times to half the original cost and the max speed has gone up from 2MB to 8MB

Isn't their premier limit peak-time only? I didbn't think they have a limit on what you download overnight

I'm thinking of sticking with them... I did find out just after I posted here first that I'm billed on the 15th (today ) and not the 1st of each month, so I wasn't as far over the limit as I thought. I noticed a speed increase today though definately! That was just ordinary browing aswell
