Not been in here before...kinda exciting.

But I have a more serious question. I have a studio running macs, they love each other, I love them, we are all happy....but in the corner lurks something strange. It's a beige box running windows.

We use it for our mail server and to control the firewall, routers, etc.

Thing is it sits there, works, always has. Isn't very fast but doesn't need to be.

"Get on with it" - alright, alright...Thing is it's running out of disc space. With a whopping 85Mb left.

Question is how can I add more? Sure I can buy a hard drive (if someone tells me what I need) it currently has a Fujitsu MPC3032AT, plug that in and it will come up as D drive right? I presume I can't copy C to D then mount from D instead.....nah!? Or buy a HD install (I'll need your help for this bit too!) and then run the mail server from this drive only?

Alternatively if anyone is near South Oxfordshire and fancies making a little cash come and do it for me?!

PC's

Thanks in advance

Just buy a whopping big drive and they usualy come with a utility that will let you swap out the old drive for the new one, transferring all the data for you.

Er, I meant "no - its really really tricky and you need someone of Matt's caliber to come and sort it out for you"

That's ok pdV6, what you said was still far too advanced for my PC skills.

I mean for a start you have to buy the correct HD right?!

Download JDiskReport and find out where all your disk space is going on the server. Might be you can free up a load and save all the hassle.

you should get away with about 3MB, half of which you can reclaim when you delete the installer and just leave the programme.

It's like a frigging scene from Apollo 13, trying to get enough amps to do anything!

You could always get a relative of yours who does this sort of thing to sort it out for you
