im on bulldog, and will be getting their 16mbps service soon, but they tell me i need a new router. sure enough, the specs for my current one only go up to 8. Problem is, I don't really want one of their ones, I would like to choose my router since I use it for a few more things thatn the average home user. However, I don't know how to search for a suitable router because I don't know what the new/faster technology is called. Any ideas?

Any recommendations for decent routers? Are Draytek worth the money?

I rate them hugely, and have used them for years. Between me and my clients where I've installed them I've used most of the features the various models offer.

but....

Every now and again they release a dodgy firmware version, and their support are crap at admitting it, and will mess you about over swapping units out. They also aren't that robust which I don't need from a router, but it would appear that I have some very heavy handed clients.

what have got now? Netgear DG834G (wireless) or DG834 (non-wireless) is good for 24Mbps and the predominant one in the UK market
