Hi All

Relative newbie here - to PH at least!

I have a PP presentation with linked movies that used to work fine, but now half the movies refuse to play.

The movies are still in the same location, they still work in Media Player and MCI (mplayer2.exe) and PP displays the opening shot, but just refuses to go any further, although you can go on to the next slide.

I'm baffled, and now a little concerned as the presentation that I thought was almost ready to go (on Monday) doesn't work.

Having hung around reading the forums for a while, it seems that there is always someone on PH who knows what to do - so........

Help please!!!!

Have you tried performing a "pack and go" and then re-installing the presentation on a different PC (That way you will see if the presentation is seeing the movie files properly, as it will install them on the second PC)

Just a thought....

Alternatively, you could go back to the slides that feature the movie clips and re-create them (ie put a fresh pointer to the individual files)

Thanks for ideas so far/

I have tried recreating the slides, but even when you try to manually play them from with PP they refuse to budge - although clearly the link is working as the initial opening shot displays.

The whole lot has been copied to other PCs with the same results - some of the movies play, some just sit there. Puzzling, as I have used it on my Laptop for 8 months without a drama until two weeks ago, when I discovered (during another presentation) that suddenly it was not going to work.

I might try the hyperlinking, but recall I had some grief with that when I tried it a few months (years?) back - like couldn't understand how to get it to work!!! (I'm not normally that dumb, but.......)
