xp pro problem . . .
Discussion
For no reason my Desktop PC has suddenly decided to go on a "go slow" when browsing the internet.
Basically I have an ADSL router with an inbuilt network (5 ports) and when using my laptop it browses perfectly through the router - the desktop machine is the problem.
I really am at a loss and its doing my head in!!!!!
Please help!!!

First thing is to look for a spyware/trojan infection.
Run adaware from www.lavasoft.com (get the free version and update it before you run it)
Microsoft antispyware from www.microsoft.com (think its called windows defender now)
Is your antivirus up to date and running, manual full scan on drive after update if not.
There are probably some more recommendations a) on the way and b)in the sticky at the top of the forum but those should show up most things.
report back with your findings.
