ive just set myself up a computer attached to my TV by s-video. It works 100% great for video, i'm very pleased with it. But when you are trying to navigate around windows it is useless - can't read any of the text. I have tried increasing the size of the font, but it doesn't really help. does anyone have a suggestion as to some settings I could change to make life easier?

You could try decreasing the resolution of the PC to match a TV, so 800*600 (as low as I can go) may work, or lower if you can.

I would suggest dropping the resolution to 800x600 or using one of the various tweaker apps out their to put it down to 640x480.
You might also need to increase font size quite dramatically.

Dunno about ATi but Nvidia's software suit have a large range of overscan/flicker controls to help smooth out a picture being displayed on a TV; although they've never made a dramatic improvement in my experiments. Your mileage might be better though

Yo dave, it's surely a great excuse to get a nice shiny new plasma or lcd with a proper vga input so you can browse PH from your sofa?

Mind you I tried to do that once and was threatened that if I carried on I'd be not only a loser, but a single loser at that. Now I only do it when she's at work!

i'm bored this morning, anything to avoid cleaning the house...
