Im pulling my hair out with this trojan

Last week this forced me to do a clean windows install, But now its back. I hadnt even restored all the data i backed up so the trojan cant be there. AVG isnt picking it up.

Apparently its a java trojan. i keep getting the space button being held down i am gonna change my keyboard just to be sure. But im pretty sure its this trojan.

can anyone help?

You might try Norton's online virus scan:

http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/de

Information, including where to look for the infected files is here on Sun's Website:

http://java.com/en/download/help/cach

I've had this Trojan before and Norton was able to identify it and where it was located and to get rid of it I turned off "System Restore" went into the files identified by Norton (same as the ones on Sun's Website) and deleted them manually.

Hope this is helpful.

the byte verify one is usually stored in the Sun Java cache which is handled seperately from the Internet Explorer cache. No amount of cache emptying in IE will get rid of it if you have Sun's Java engine installed.

In the control panel, go to Java and select "delete files" then re-run your scan, should be gone.
