Whilst attempting to kill off a Spyware on my laptop I have somehow deleted the Audio Driver. I now have no sound !

Can anyone explain how I can restore this whithout having to clean off all my applications and use the original set up disk that came with the computer ?

Thanks

Go to the Sony Vaio site... type in your serial code / model number and you should find all the downloads you need.

Thanks chaps,

Could you give me a hand as to the selection I have no idea which download I shold be using. Shady on the link I do not see a choice that would restore my original audio driver

On the Vaio downloads would it be the Preintalled Drivers and Utilities ?

I don't want to download something and find I made m ore of a mess that I have already done !!!

Thanks

should be...

Right click MY COMPUTER, go to PROPERTIES. Then select the HARDWARE tab, and click DEVICE MANAGER. You should be able to find the audio hardware, and click on it to update the driver...

Nowt on the website then? Seem to recall with the Sony Vaio's you have to register the PC with them...

Go to the "Manuals/Specs/Warranty" page on Sony's website and find out who the manufacturer of the on-board sound chip or sound card for your laptop is and the model number, then go to the manufacturer's website and download the appropriate driver and follow any specific installation instructions.

Try Windows Defender - surprisingly good for MS.

Otherwise, Spybot is pretty good.
