I have seen this music download site inadvertantly advertised (BBC News no less) and they advertise complete albums for approx $3.50.

Sure I have no problems handing over credit card details to shady Russian websites of dubious legality

Loads of people have without issue.

Still too pricey though

I have a number of friends who've used them a lot and have had no problems with their CC details. However, there was an item in the paper this morning (which I was reading over someone's shoulder, so I can't tell you which paper it was - one of the broadsheets) with the Record Industry Arse of America saying that the site is *not* legal & threatening to sue anyone who downloads from it.

Hmmmmm. Now there's a business model; suing your customers.

I'd like to see how the americans will sue an english person for paying to download from a russian site, as you say, interesting model.

I joined and have filled up my account to $10 with my credit card after a thread on here. There's a good selection, although not always the latest stuff when your music taste is a bit off main stream. Still, didn't have any problems to find music I wanted. If only the legal music shops were as good as this service

The news on XFM just now said the site is illegal and doesn't pay royalties to artists. It is currently trying to be closed by the UK music industry.

And watch the Russians give them the middle finger.

www.mp3search.ru is another Russia site. Charges by the record not the size.
