Go into device manager.

Do they appear with little yellow exclamation marks next to them?

If so, its a driver issue.

You have loaded the mobo driver disk I take it?

Also, make sure that the Gigabyte adapaters have been "turned on". In that particular board, go into the BIOS and make sure that they are active...

That's right, if you insert the mobo support DD into the PC disk tray, go into device manager. When you see the yellow exclamation marks by some devices, just click 'update driver', and it should find the right one from the disk.

(I still have one of these yellow exclamation markes in my device manager, and for the life of me I don't know what the hell it is!)

Theres no such thing as DOS mode in XP

Why do you want to update your BIOS?

Its almost certaintly not that thats stopping the NICs working...

It simply says 'other devices' - 'unknown device'!
I have inserted my Creative X-FI soundcard CD, my GPU cd, and the mobo CD, even browsed to dorect it to any drivers I could find, but nothing seems to work! Very odd!

This sounds as though the settings in the BIOS options screen need changing - a lot of the mobo's 'features' are usually set to disabled by default.

Curious.

Nothing listed under Network Adapters?

They are turned on in the BIOS yes? (As Ernest suggests)

Ah the classic unknown device, cheers Bill!

Its either a secondary component on a card like a joystick/midi port or something on the mobo usually.

LOL, yep, cheers for the huge amount of info on what's missing Bill!

Just tried any remaining driver CDs (Cyborg joystick, soundcard, again!, and my RA2 drivers), but still doesn't want to know! I hate that, don't like the exclamation marks, especially when I spent almost £2K on the damn thing! lol

Chris, try this: www.zhangduo.com/udi.html

Khushy have you expanded the entire device manager (hit * on the numeric keypad) to see if the NIC is listed under another section?
