I have an ATi x800 AGP Card. It's running the catalyst drivers that came with it (not sure which one it is), the card is hooked up to two 19" tft screens and the resolution they are both running is 1280x1024.
Now the desktop area is spanned over these two screen, but the backdrop image isn't. What i basically have is the backdrop in a res of 1280x1024 on each screen. What i want to try and do is spann that image over two screens, so i would basically have a screen res of 2360x1024. Is there anyway that i can do this?
I'm sure that i have read it somewhere that the registy can be edited, but i have no idea where to start in there.

Any help would be great.

thanks

Google for Ultramon.

All sorts of handy dual monitor toys including stretched or double width desktop.

You could always chop the image into two and just have one half per monitor..

Right click on desktop, go to settings tab and click on the 2nd monitor. Then make sure that the "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" is ticked. Click apply and this should stretch it over. It appears that you have it set to clone desktop rather than extend.

great stuff all working now.
i tried ultramon and that did what i wanted, but then i found out that the version of ATi Catylst that i was using was years old!
Upgraded to the 6.5 version and on there there is the spanning option.
basically what i wanted to do it take a normal 1280x1024 image and spread it across two screen, which ultramon and ATi Catylst allows me to do.

thanks again
