I'm in the 2% of the country that are unable to get broadband so at home I use dial up, my ISP is Tiscali and they provided a web accelarator that works well (when I can use it).

Trouble is more often than not I appear to be able to connect but the websites return page couldn't be loaded etc.

The accelarator doesn't connect either when this happens so I'm guessing it's an ISP problem but it seems to happen most of the time now and so often that I'm not bothering to use it at home much now.

One exception is PH, always seems to load, albeit slowly. Why is that?

Is this normal for all dial up, or do I have a bad ISP?

Tiscali dial up used to be OK.

It's very frustrating to wait 30 mins for a page that eventually won't load

With no responses for almost an hour I've moved this to the forum where people who do know about these things can help. Not everyone looks at P&P

Can you enlarge on this, are you using a third party accelerator? does the page load if disable it?



I'm pretty sure that if you order your BB off BT they'll hook you up whever you are now, where are you out of interest?

I had a look on broadbandchecker.co.uk and I'm listed now

It has only been 6 months since I last checked and we had no BB

The accelerator is provided by Tiscali and connects to them as you log on but I get a message returned to say it could not connect and no web pages ever load with one exception and that is usually PH but even that will take ages.

I must look into getting BB now
