clips off You Tube

[_Deano]

Youtube.com is filled with great video clips that i can't find anywhere else. Only thing is i can't download these on to my hard drive so that i can view them whilst being offline (e.g in a hotel).
Is there anyway or is there an app i can use that will allow me to save these vid files to my HD so that they can be viewed later?

thanks

Dean

There's a plugin for FireFox that was mentioned on here recently.

What browser are you using? If I.E you just need to go into tools> INTERNET options> settings> view files and find the .flv file select it and copy to the folder of your choice.

If you are using Firefox there are 3 or more extensions that allow you to find the video links so you can download them, they can be found here:

Then you need either an FLV player or an FLV converter (to convert the .flv files to mpeg or avi so you can watch them on an existing player).

You can Google for those.

The FLV converters appear to be hit and miss depending on what codec the files were encoded with but it is my preferred method.
