Multiroom Sky

I popped over to see a family friend last night who remembered my interest in all things gadget related.

They have just had their sky boxes moved and IR mice fitted.

The set up is as follows:

6 Rooms with TV and IR mice.

In one of these rooms is a Sky+ box and a normal Sky box


This gives them the option of watching either the Sky+ or the normal Sky box from any of the 6 rooms in the house. They want to know if they need 2 remote contols (1 x Sky+, 1 x Sky) in each room in order to control it, or will a Sky+ remote control the normal Sky box?

I'm not sure if it will work as if someone downstairs is watching BBC1 on the Sky+ box, and then someone upstairs decides to watch a recorded program it would change what is displayed on the TV downstairs.

What they don't want is to have 12 remote controls (2 for each room)!

Any suggestions?

Pretty sure the Sky+ remote will control the older non + box.

Can't they just try the remotes and see if they work???
