Any good?

Failing that specific model anything with anything to say about Dell flat panels in general.

Just looks like a good value panel for £180.

I have exactly that monitor at home; a great bit of kit.

I also have the little speaker thingy that attaches underneath; annoyingly they have a seperate power transformer just for two piddly speakers. Still, saves desk space...

Edited to say: what is a 'homel' anyway

Magic, thanks chaps.

Currently ummming and ahhhing over the Soundbar, seperate transformer is indeed a downside...

I've got one as it was cheap with a computer.

I'm very happy with it but if you were paying full price, I'm not sure how it would compare to any other options.

I have got one and it's top. I also have the soundbar, but my soundbar is part of and indeed controls the 5.1 THX system that came with my DELL system so it's not so bad. The power for mine is built into the subwoofer. Anyway, top screen.

Got one when Dell mispriced it at £130. It's basic - VGA only (not that I notice any difference from my DVI 17" ) , and no extra frills but a good solid choice. Nice thin bezel too. Wouldn't bother with the soundbar; I find a regular set of PC speakers hide away nicely behind it and sound much better. Response time is fine for movies, gaming and the like.

Mind you, £180 these days will buy any of a number of nice 19" monitors, including ones with DVI and the surprisingly useful portrait/landscape swivelling.

I've got the Dell UltraSharp 2001FP, which is a 20.1" 1600x1200 16ms jobbie.

It really is very good indeed.

Thats who we eventually got it from at £159 + £10 delivery.

Should arrive before the weekend.

I'm sure theres better out there for similar cash but good warranty (April 2009) etc sold it and its not for me and is strictly going to be used for business tasks.

I prefer CRTs personally but shes running out of desk space, and *needs* a TFT apparently...

Still, on the upside thats 2 21" CRT's at 1600x1200 for me - ahhh real estate!
