Exam: Implementing and Managing Exchange 2003
Discussion
Probably not what you want to hear, but I found it pretty taxing! However, I don't have extensive experience with Exchange and my general Windows tech knowledge isn't superb either - I'm more of a Novell & linux person.
I was sent on the 2400 course and just revised using the official course material. I took copies of the VirtualPC images we used on the course so I could go back through the exercises. Many of the questions were long descriptions of a setup with some design/implementation question (rather than day-to-day management) - what I found tricky was that some were to do with AD/domains/GC with only a passing reference to Exchange. Make sure you know front/back-end server stuff, including how to set it up with firewalls in the way. Learn all the port numbers that various things need. Know requirements for features like RPC over HTTP off the top of your head. There was at least one question that was just about straightforward TCP/IP - a quick brush-up on basic subnetting and routing won't hurt.
Don't bother with anything related to mobile access (it's a whole chapter in the course notes) as it's not covered at all in the exam. That was according to my instructor, and certainly seemed the case. There's some handy notes here: www.netfresco.com/cert/70-284/ for things you may have missed in your own revision.
Good luck!

All my experience is with Exchange 5.5 and I've not had any real hands-on experience with 2003 - you're right about the questions, I'm not sure they really reflect real usage but then again Microsoft can do whatever they like!
Thanks for the link... will have a look through that when I get a quiet minute... like now!

If anyone finds any useful links to learning all about this, maybe not the in depth techy stuff but more the user side I'd be interested to know. Just started working for an IT firm who are Exchange consultants & I've got the job of marketing their business. Every bit of knowledge helps.
Have been through all the Microsoft stuff & once you get past the corporate cow pooh stuff it does'nt really give you what the end user really sees. I've found actually using the system has helped more than reading about it.
Going back to the original post.........
Nothing better than getting your hands dirty for learning stuff, why not try setting a dummy system up for somone?

Have a look here you might find something useful. Nothing specific to the exam listed.

Some very useful stuff
Cheers for that!
Well I've just got back... and after suffering tube line closures and other such things I managed to get their 5 mins before the exam by sprinting across london bridge like a loon. Nice... especially in this weather.
Armed with a frapucino (sp?) type thing from Starbucks I rushed straight into the exam. The pass mark is 700... and I scored a whopping
700. Jammy or what?
