Terminal Server session won't close
Discussion
i am running an application direct from a remote connection onto a terminal server
ie it autmatically logs the user in to the terminal and calls the app straight up when i close the app i want it to close the session
automatically ,instead what happens is the app closes and i get a screen with no Icons on it or start bar so have to kill the session off ,anyone know how to correct this
i have another TS server will log out but won't run the App ,the settings look the same on both machines

How are you running the app? Lots of ideas here : www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/Win2000/Q_21835194.html
if you can get to another 2000/2003 server on the same network you can run the TSADMIN ( terminal services admin) tool from the Run box, browse to the problem machine and disconnect all sessions.
Once you have done that, i would suspect you are having a problem with video drivers on the host you are connecting to, and this is not allowing the TS session to close. Have seen it before where windows is using a generic VIDEO driver and not the proper one.

Problem will likely be a process not closing and holding the session open.
If you leave the session a LONG time does it eventually close unaided?
Fire up another session on the same server (or on another server), and use TSADMIN and/or Task Manager (same server only) to see what processes are running? Any any other standard TS processes running in the session - i.e. anything application related?
If you are not sure what processes you would expect to see normally, compare to another session on the server running a desktop only (i.e. no app)
