Will T-Mobile stock the N80,90,91 ever?!
Discussion
Hi Guys, wasn't sure what forum to put this in.
I have a contract with T-Mobile and as a whole am very happy withh them. I've currently got a MDA and whilst I like it to use it's just so flakey it's untrue.
The manager of my locan T-mobile shop said he'd swap it for something else, no problem. They have the Nokia N70 which looks right up my street however I've benn waiting for the N80 to come in. And waiting and waiting and waiting...
Does anybody have any idea when - if ever - T-mobile will get any of the other Nokia N series phones in?
This morning I've had to reboot my MDA twice and now it won't come on at all, so it looks like I may have to change it pronto.
As ever, all insight appreciated.
Bob.

Not sure, but I moved from T-Mobile.
My bills were getting ever bigger and reception on any phone was getting worse and worse.
Switched to Vodafone - tariff was significantly cheaper, they had much better business services, more phones to choose from, better coverage and the customer service thus far has been soooooo much better than T-Mobile it's untrue.
I have an N70 with Vodafone. Great phone with a couple of drawbacks - it's quite slow booting up and moving between menus (put this down to the Symbian OS). It also seems to need a reboot regularly otherwise SMS messages don't come through. I had this before on T-Mobile with my 6230 though, so have put this down to modern networks/phones.

Bob, have a chat to the customer service chaps at T-Mobile. I've always found them really good. I blagged my N70 as a free upgrade & got 25% discount on my line rental for the contract as well
All that, and being told to hold off for a month, as the N70 was due for launch, and wasn't available when I initially enquired for upgrade.
I like my N70. The only reason I can see for changing to an N80 is to add WiFi, and as I have unlimited internet access via 3G / GPRS on the N70, I can see no need for...
If you get the N70, take it immediately to your local Nokia service centre for the software to be upgraded to version 5.06something. This makes the phone a little quicker & a lot more reliable.
I have tried allsorts of Windows Mobile devices including an MDA - all were unusably unreliable. The MDA use to regularly tell me that it had "insufficient resources to answer the call" - really useful in a phone FFS
The N70 is a paragon of reliability compared to the MDA, but still is not a patch on my old Sony Ericsson K750i, but that's a different story!
Hope that helps,
Chris

Thanks Chris,
I agree with every thing you say about T-Mobile. I've found them to be really good. I think that's more down to the quality of staff at my local franchise than the company as a whole though really.
Good insight into running a PDA. Mine has become so unreliable over the last few days that I think I'll most likely change to the N70 today.
I did fancy the wifi on the N80, but I suspect, as with all the feature the PDA offered I'll never really use it.
All I really want is the added bonus of Sat-nav, which I never got working on this dammned thing!
Thanks again.
