orange and their livebox

i am getting oranges livebox that allows free calls over VoIP, will i get a new and seperate phone number for this service?, if so i will then have to tell all my contacts to call me on my new number wont i?

You'll get an 0845 number, but your existing BT (or whatever) number, that delivers your BB to the Livebox, will remain connected. So no need to tell your mates. We use the 0845 phone when the main line is busy. Which, with teenagers in the home, it often is. Also use it for all long distance evening calls, as our BT package charges for these.
