Have any of the NTL Broadband users here noticed their speed increased from 2 to 4 Mb yet? NTL weree supposed to be doing it as a free upgrade from/on the 1st June, but I'm still stuck at 2 / 2.5Mb.

Just wondered if anyone else has had a speed increase before I subject myself to their call centre.

Not sure if it will do it automatically, last year i had to go online to upgrade from the 750k service upto the 2MB. As i had a problem with them earlier this year i was put down to 1MB by mistake when i was reconnected so when i went upto 4MB last month i did the online thing. Check to see on the My Account tab on the www.ntlworld.com site.

We just moved house from where we were subscribed to 2Mb, and NTL helpfully connected us a day later in the new house.

And promptly disconnected us.

And reconnected us at 1Mb...

And then a few days later we were up to around 3.5Mb

I'm at 10Mb/s with NTL - IIRC I upgraded through their website, it was't automatic.

Same reason you drive fast cars.

Because we can.

No further justification required.

My upgrade from 3->10Mbps was automatic. Just goes to show that NTL moves in mysterious ways.

I know what you mean, but I must say, and I'm shocked I'm doing this, I haven't had any problems with NTL Broadband. The CS has been good when I've need it it, totally unlike the TV/Phone CS and availability/useability have also been good.

Shock horror, happy NTL customer Saying that, it'll all go tits up tonight now.

Same as. My NTL has been fine for over 5 years!

Moving house and getting NTL cable again. Not bothered about tv or phone though so i'll leave those alone

I've had NTL phone for 10 years, telly for 8, and broadband for 4; it's all worked all the time.

And with that, I've probably sentenced my local UBR to a messy death.

Yes, mine went up a couple of weeks ago. Didn't do a thing - no filling in a web page, no phone call, didn't even bounce the modem; it just happened that one day I noticed that I had lovely steady 500KB/s downloads
