Exchange 2000 - filter on subject?
Discussion
You can filter by sender
Global Settings >Message Delivery >Properties
but I haven't found a way based on headers from the server. Unless someone knows better I think header processing is usually a client side rule.
If the proxy is rewriting the headers can't it reroute at the same time? What SW is the proxy running?

The spam proxy is... not quite the right tool for the job. It's a bodge of SpamAssassin running on Windows that's more designed for workstation than for server use, called 'No Spam Today!'
They do a server version too which I will probably end up buying instead. I'm persuing this more out of stubborn-ness at the moment
In the mean time just been looking at modding this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/32402
But the schema referenced by one of the scrips doesnt seem to exist any more

I've got an exchange 2k here thats pulling in pop3 mail via a pop3 proxying spam filter that rewrites the subject header... is there any way if getting exchange to filter or preferably re-route emails based on the subject header? (or another arbitrary header)?
I wrote a transport event sync the last time I had to do this.
However, my spam headers were being added in an upstream SMTP server.
As you're using POP3, you'll probably not fire a transport event though
edited to add: Just looked at those scripts you suggested and they attempt to do the same thing. They won't work either as they're only fired when a message is transmitted/recieved through SMTP and yours don't (the POP3 connector leaches them instead).

Looks like its outlook rules or better software...
Still anythings better than nothing (500 incoming a day, 89% spam!)

I realise you probably won't want to pay for it, but if it were me, I'd use a managed spam/virus solution such as www.messagelabs.com or www.mailcontrol.com.
Much simpler and are brilliantly effective.
Failing that, any chance you'll move to Exchange 2003 any time soon?
