Who knows about WLAN?
Discussion
I've been using it for a few years, fully MAC addressed and WEPped for what it's worth.
Router is a Vigor 2600We, wireless card is a Linksys WPC11.
Basically works fine, BUT.
If I switch off the SSID broadcasting then the laptop/wireless card can't find the router. I know other people can do this, but why can't I?
Periodically, it just stops working. Can't find the router at all.
Have to switch on the main computer, log into the router console, find the WLAN settings, and just OK them (without changing anything).
Then it works fine.
Why so unreliable?
Running XP Professional, SP2.

Well, I'm not sure if yours is the same, but on my NetGear the SSID is case sensitive?
When it upgraded my wireless PCMCIA driver, I had to re-enter the SSID stuff, and put it in small letters as opposed to CAPS. Couldn't see the router.
My NetGear PCMCIA also lets me save the SSID / WLAN details as a profile - does yours do the same?
HTH,
Greg
