I-Pod Software Question

Every time I log into I-Tunes I am asked if I want to download new software v1.4.1 for my i-pod. Is this a good thing to do or am i in danger of breaking what I have. I am a user not a technologist. Any advice appreciated.

If you are using a hack like Go-pod to remove the volume limiter then no - don't update. If it does everything that you want without the update, I wouldn't bother. There should be a check box for "don't ask again".
