Help! I want to sell my old 20g iPod, and need to delete everything before I can. I have already unchecked all songs on iTunes and updated my iPod, so when you browse through it has no visible songs on it. However, when I looked at the 'About' menu, it shows that my iPod only has 9.8g available. I'm assuming while it looks like I have deleted everything, somewhere the files have been saved.

Is there any way of completely deleting everything, or do I not need to bother as the songs aren't actually showing?

Restore to factory settings.

Download the latest firmware from Apple (or use the one that is on the CD) and with the ipod connected tell it to wipe the device.

On the other hand, leave all the songs on it when you come to sell it - the girl who I bought mine from did this, and it was what convinced me to buy hers rather than any other.
