Right chaps, while I'm busily setting up my net access, does anyone recommend the free spyware found on AVG's site? I use AVG itself for virus protection...

If not, what other (free) alternatives are about that I could look at?

Help much appreciated!

Oh, and while I'm at it, anyone have any idea why the " and @ keys are reversed on my machine? I keep getting e-ail addresses wrong...

AVG have acquired eWido which is the best all in one scanner on the market.

I use:

eWido
Spybot Search and Destroy
Lavasoft AdAware
Microsoft Defender

May seem like overkill but they have their subtle nuances, MS Defender also works in a completely different way to the other 3 and I have no spyware issues at all.

Your Keyboard is set up in American mode - need to look at your language settings.

spywareblaster, spybot and adaware (google them) are what I use to defend/clean out all the dodgy stuff from dodgy sites.

Use 3 different ones from the ones people mention on here and you'll be fine.

I use Microsoft Defender, Spyware Search & Destroy and Spyware Blaster.
