I have a kingston 1gb SD Card, and I am trying to fill it with mp3s to play on my car headunit. I have 187mb left on the card and when I try and copy over a new song it says 'Cannot copy [songname]: The directory or filename cannot be created.'

I have no idea what is up with it, as I have a lot of space left. There are currently 121 tracks on the card, and I can only add new songs by deleting old ones.

Does anyone know what is up with it?

Many thanks.

Isn't there some kind of limit on the number of files in the root directory with fat12/fat16? Google fails me atm..

I don't know. But it wouldn't let me add anymore past 119, then I deleted some and got up to 121.

If you create a subfolder can you fill the rest of the disk up? The MP3 player should be able to handle that.
