A while back i bought these and they're still sitting on the top of my wardrobe waiting for a computer to be inside.

AMD 3500+ (dual core x2 amd 64) including stock HSF and Saphire X850XT (pci-x).

Now i need a motherboard for them. and some ram. and a 250gb (ish) harddrive

any recommendations? i'm not too sure what to look for.

budget approx £200-300 for the lot, is that feasable?

How's this lot sound?

From OCUK
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS3 (GE2GB3200BDC) (MY-046-GL)

From aria
Asus A8N-SLi Premium Socket 939
2x PCI-E SLi / NF4 / SATA(II) RAID / 8CH AUDIO / DUAL CH DDR / ATX MOTHERBOARD
£70.45 £70.45
320GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 £56.95 £56.95

Also do I need thermal paste or anything like that? i don't have any at the moment.

How is my Seasonic 380W PSU gonna hold up to all this lot? Should i get something more powerful?

all to fit in my antec sonata.

Ok your hardware choices seem good. Only thing to double check is the CPU you've got. Is it Socket 939 or AM2? It'll have it written on the box.

The 380w might not be up to the job it'd be a good idea to get a meatier one.
Thermal paste... again check the CPU box they usually sell them with a small package of thermal paste inside, you won't need all of it

I'd definately invest in a 500w PSU. My 300w blew up under the pressure of my machine and it's nowhere near as powerful as the one you're looking to build.

I'm pretty sure its socket 939 but i'll have a look later!

If it's not, what do i need to get instead?

The stock retail HSF doesn't have separate thermal paste, it has a sort of sticker underneath the heatsink. After inserting the cpu and closing the ZIF lever, remove the sticker and place the HSF down onto the CPU and apply the retention clip/lever. That's all, unless you want to go for something more exotic.
