e-mail broken (not unusual) but can't connect to www.metronet.co.uk to complain. Everything else is fine...

I guess they are related to Plusnet, I have an email account there and it was unreachable earlier, the front page of the web site had exactly the same text. My goodness, they *are* reliable recently aren't they.

*Owned* by Plusnet. I knew things would go pear-shaped when they said how great it would be... rolleyes

Every so often I have periods of 'Bad username or Password'. I complain; they reply about 24 hours later saying they've fixed it. But they never quite do...

Junk them. Never once had any issues with BTOpenworld or Nildram, BT did have a idle disconnect though (this was 4ish years ago when 512kbps was super dooper), if they can't run a decent e-mail or radius system or keep users informed of maintenance being performed then it's time to go shopping IMHO.

You're right - my e-mail is down *again* today and I need it for work. I've had enough.

However the broadband connection is fine and I don't like to disturb things that work (as I'm not an IT bod like you guys!). I remember that the Mailbox part is an option - so can I change just the e-mail part, and if so, which supplier would you recommend?

Luckily I can still get some e-mails forwarded to a webmail account, but even so some seem to be missing, and webmail sucks.

Funnily enough, I have just posted a letter to the CEO and Chair of Plusnet concerning their awful recent service levels following my 'interesting' conversation with their support team last night...

I have an outstanding broadband issue at home which has been going on for nearly two months without a satisfactory solution.

I managed to get through and open a Ticket (IT-speak for telling them it's broken). (What's wrong with a simple e-mail ?)

Anyway, on previous occasions it would then say that replies were taking 5 hours, then it went to 8, then 24 - now they've taken that feature off altogther.

Metronet, it's time to stick all your kit eBay, get down to PC World and start again from scratch!

Hmmm scratchchin, perhaps it could be awkward if your email isn't working

I can send but not receive via OE. I've also taken the precaution of forwarding to a webmail address.
