Just a quickie.

When ever I plug my video ipod in to the computer to recharge it always forgets what it was playing when I unplug it. Kind of annoying when it was in the middle of a nice long mix.

Doesn't seem to matter if itunes fires up or not either :-/

Anyone know if their is a setting to make the ipod remember where it is in a track after a charge cycle?

My mini does the same. Its because you plug it in the same way to update it. So when it updates, it forgets all old information, including what song you where playing, and mirrors your iTunes library. Because i bought a mini before they were revised, i got a mains charger included. As long as you dont let the battery go completly flat, it remembers what song you are on. It may be wise investing in one of these in case your PC isnt within reach when it goes flat. Non-official chargers are available for about 9-10 quid if you shop around.

Out of interest is the mains charager/firewire cable solution from a 3rd Generation unit compatible? I still have the plug adapter thingie and cable from an old busted unit.

Yes, Seem to remember it being compatible. I use a 1st Gen firewire 'block' to charge my Mini.
