Right, now i'm getting many issues with my laptop that are starting to annoy me:

1) The USB laptop mouse keeps freezing, and so i have to un-dock the connector and re-connect it for it to start working.

2) The emails have a funny windows installer pop up that i cant get rid off.

3) My wifes email freezes every time she logs on to Outlook and tries to send/receive.

4) It seems to be hesitant and stutter when executing programs.

Basically i'm a bit fed up with it and am thinking of what to do. Now how do it sort my overall machine out?

I want to ensure that whatever i do i:

dont lose emails/pics/docs

And make it as smooth as possible and not too time consuming.

So any ideas how you would basically rebuild or reinstall your system easily and without fuss without losing info?

Really appreciated the help on this one.

Zero fuss method is to give it, and a handful of fivers, to your mate down the pub who does this for a living.

What OS is installed? If it's XP, use the export wizard to save all your stuff then reformat and reinstall from scratch. If it's an earlier version of windows, you need to back everything up manually instead.

"I'd like you to fix this please. I haven't backed up e-mail/pics/docs Im using Outlook/Outlook Express (delete as appropriate) and their are X users on the system; their passwords are Y" Then hand over your credit card/cash/beer when the job is completed.

Avoid PC World's repair team, they're scripted reinstallers usually. Check yellow pages or something for a rent-a-geek type outfit.

This is the smoothest, simplest way and isn't time consuming for you.
