Problems accessing certain websites..
Discussion
Parrot of Doom has had a continual problem with http://ph.uncle-dave.co.uk and all files stored under this site..
No IP blocks set by me, everyone else seems to have no problems at all.. So why would one person be unable to connect
(PoD's ISP is NTL iirc, if that gives any clues
)
Need to get to the bottom of this!
Dave.

Ok. Pull up the web logs and see if he is even appearing on your site. Probably not but worth a shot. If your running apache try cat <log> | grep ntli | grep <time> as NTL's web proxies generally appear as something like cosh-cache-9.server.ntli.net (cosh-cache-9 being my proxy).
Try pinging the site from a cmd shell (Start > Run > type 'cmd' > Ok), is their any response and more importantly does the host resolve? It should say pinging <site> (ip address) and then trundle off. Edit: If it resolves AND pings, is the IP address it's looking at right? If not check out the hosts file on the machine.
If he's using Firefox, try opening the site in IE (vice versa applies). Try flushing the cache & cookies of the browser(s) might not do anything but worth a shot.
NTL's myriad of web proxies do seem to go bonkers every so often... they also occasionaly ban a site for no apparent reason although this isn't accross the board so some proxies can access but not others; so ask a friend who's local (next door or at least same area) to see if they can pull up the site.
