Sorry, being lazy...

Can someone please recommend a cheap wireless router kit that I should buy so I can share my broadband connection with a second PC?

Thanks much

PC world are doing a cheap Phillips one for £59 which comes with a free wirelss convertor in case one of your computers doesnt have it inbuilt.
I bought one and after initial hassles it seems to work fine.

just don't use Linksys - their current home stuff (despite being a Cisco brand) is pretty unstable, requiring a power cycle at least once a week

I bought Belkin. Not impressed. Lousy range (same room), still haven't managed to get the "range extender" to work at all, and last week the laptop PC card stopped working for no apparent reason. Not exactly plug&play.

I'm getting on very well with the Netgear WGT624, £52 from PC World if ordered online. Incredibly easy to set up. Of course if you have an ADSL connection you'll probably need a combined ADSL modem/router

Try a firmware upgrade... does wonders!

cheap is not necessarily 'good'

Netgear DG834PN is very good for range and stability ...a Google may turn up some offers at Amazon, Dabs etc with free card etc

My "WAG54GS" is on firmware V1.00.08 which is newer than their latest download of the support site - and checking the US support forums (none in the UK) there are loads of people with same stability issues...

Ahh... that's a b*gger then!

Can you roll it back to a previous version?
