Anything to rival Sony Vaio TX?

[aprisa]

Looking for a very light and well specced Laptop, as the title says, are there any alternatives to the TX with at least a gig of Ram and DVD R/W.

Thanks
Nick

I've heard bad things about Sony laptops, such as keys and screens that stop working and batteries that die after a year (i've heard stories of 10 minute battery life)

Can't help with specific model numbers but Toshiba are supposed to be pretty good.

Sony, overpriced IMHO.

Have a look here www.dabs.com/

Dell XPS M1210 - dual core processor for the same price as Sony single core; very highly rated in reviews

I would happily buy it today, but will wait until they come with Vista pre-installed
