Hi all.

Have given up trying to get my laptop to boot.
www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=305023&f=95&h=0

Before sending it to the menders, I was keen to access the hard drive 'cos I hadn't backed it up. I've removed the hd and bought a little caddy for it, fixed it up and plugged it into my PC and hey presto, there it all is. Everything now copied.

Except there are still some fim clips I can't find, that I took at the nurburgring. I'm wondering if I accidentally deleted them (back when the laptop was working) and they're in the recycle bin.

Thing is, by opening the laptop hd via 'My Computer' on my PC, I can't find the recycle bin anywhere, nor any evidence of deleted files. I've run a search for the recycle bin, but can't access the bin via these results.

Anyone know what I can do?

<drive letter> RECYCLER (i.e. D:RECYCLER)

It might well be a hidden system folder so you'll need to adjust the properties in Explorer.

Tools > Folder Options > View
Select "Show hidden files and folder"
Deselect "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)"

Wow, that seems to have worked. The film clios aren't there, looks like I've lost them, but thanks, your info was spot on. clap
