Any budding spies out there?

As I need some information....... i.e. I have need of a voice-activated audio bug & some sort of receiver and was wondering if any of you lot might know of such a set-up?
I've googled around & the voice-activated stuff is coming in around £60+ which is a little pricey when added to some sort of recorder, and as this: www.max.tv/product.asp?prodID=439 , is only £40 for a video bug I was hoping something better would be available.
The reason it needs to be voice-activated is I won't have easy access to it therefore battery life is a big consideration.
So if anyone can reccomend any bugs + recorder set-ups, I'm all ears.
I know where you live....
