Opening Dell Laptop??

HAs anybody got any advice on opening up my Dell Inspiron 9200 17" Laptop? I'm planning on getting some new hinges as mine have developed a load of play in them. I know the cover above the keyboard is removalbe, but can't seem to get it totally off. Also any idea on getting the screen open so I can get to the hinges.
I have to say I'm not too impressed. I know I use the computer every day for work and play and it's around 18-19 months old now, but that seems to be the shelf life. The battery and charger have just gone, some of the paint is flaking off, and the hinges have gone loose.
