Der, I need to find a cheap 40" or 42" plasma with freeview integrated. Doesn't need to be HD ready or the latest model but it does need to be good value - under a grand preferably.

Do you have anything that would fit the (small) bill

Also am planning to mount the screen flush with in a new wall that is being built, so long as there is some room for air to circulate should that be a problem?

Cheers.

If mounting it in the wall, don't underestimate how much heat these things generate... Mine is like a radiator, and it's only a 32".

so probably leaving a good few inches round the thing might be a good idea in order not to cook the internals by the sound of it.

Not heard from the restricted one all day, so might have to go and buy from a non-PHer (heaven forbid)... as need to get this sorted asap.

I bought a TV recently from DeR for a client that appers to fit your specs. The LG 42PC1DV - £866 inc. delivery. The same TV is available from Currys for £999.99 plus delivery, so a bit of a bargain. Looks great, super picture, recommended

Don't forget you will need a couple of inches to lift the TV on and off the wall bracket, also you may need to get access to the connectors which are usually up the back somewhere, a good idea is to leave a bigger cut out and then you can make up a nice removable frame that will come up to screen edge.

Hi I also e-mailed Derestrictor yesterday via his profile but wonder if the PH e-mail system is working - I ticked the "send copy to myself" box but didn't receive anything - so if anybody has contact details I'd appreciate...

It does seem a bit patchy...I did receive a copy of my PM but I am not sure if the proper message got through.

David,

I've mailed you (via PH) DeRs email address, so you may mail him directly. I'd suggest you say you're a PH-er!

Cheers,
Greg

DeR, don't know if you have tried to mail back to me but I haven't had anything through.

Really need to make purchase this evening or tomorrow at very latest and that LG 42PC1DV looks like it fits the bill perfectly at that price. Will try PM again and hope you receive and can reply to either email address therein.

cheers

That link I gave to the LG was for DeR's business ... did you buy it from there (DigitalDirect)?

not in the end as 24/7 electrical (i think it was, my wife actually ordered it for me) were advertising the best price and could do delivery in 2 days.

If DeR was around and could have matched it would defintely have used digidirect but every ££ counts and couldn't get hold so had to press on.

Nothing is simple.....they haven't actually been able to deliver and my wife can't get through to them on the phone "due to unexpected call volumes". 24/7 decided to email saying delivery would be "some time late next week" so they can get stuffed having specifically chosen them for ther 2 day delivery.

Have just cancelled order - w***ers.

DeR we're back in the market!
